Recital FAQ’s

  • Tickets will be available to purchase at the studio leading up to the Recital AND at the door. It will be general seating.

The venue is very large, you can invite as many friend and family as you want! Children 2 years and younger are free.

  • Lewiston:

    Recital #1 - Tuesday, May 7th Recital #2 - Thursday, May 9th

    Grand Island:

    Recital - Wednesday, May 8th

Where To Enter: All dancers come in backstage door #2 (around the school) and proceed to the cafeteria on the left to drop off your dancer’s costumes, then come to the auditorium.

IMPORTANT:   Security Officers will allow each dancer only ONE chaperone to bring them into Door #2. ALL other siblings and family MUST go around to the main entrance of the PAC.

What To Wear: Come to the venue already dressed in your first costume with your hair in a slicked back bun with a middle part. If you have pink & nude tights, put your nude tights on first at home so you can easily slide the pink ones on & off.

  • In the cafeteria there is a wall that separates the common area off, through that door will be Dressing Room #3, that is where all of the girls change- the boys can change in the boys bathroom in the cafeteria.

The other dressing rooms #1 & #2 will have the classes listed on the door. The common area of the cafeteria is open to all…so please be sure your dancer is changing in the designated area.

  • Be sure you have your all of your child’s costumes pieces!

Undergarments: Please be sure your child has the correct undergarments, tights, clear strap bras, etc (especially teenagers). No underwear should be worn with dance tights.

Hair: ALL DANCERS should have their hair slicked back into a low bun with a middle part. For a tutorial on how to do the recital hair, scroll to the top of this page!

Makeup: Full make up is not necessary for Rehearsal…but for Recital use blush, eyeshadow (lighter colors that reflect the light work well. Browns, blues and darker colors, do NOT work well), eyeliner, mascara and we REQUIRE RED Lipstick. The dancers will be on a brightly lit stage they will need make up so they do not look washed out.

Head Pieces: Head pieces should be securely fasted to head. Please remember the dancers will not be standing still, they are moving! Test it to see if it will stay in place. (Rule we use: use at least 5 or more bobby pins!)

  • Every year we have students who leave their dance shoes, phones or costumes in the cafeteria or the auditorium. PLEASE double check before you leave that you have everything!! Once we leave we cannot get back into the school.
